UAE spinner : Karthik Meiyappan, who was born in Chennai, India, but has been living and developing as a cricketer in Abu Dhabi and Dubai since he was a teenager, made history on Tuesday in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Meiyappan’s feat was lauded by ICC commentator and former Sri Lankan cricketer Russell Arnold, who noted that the UAE had never before had a player score a hat-trick in a Twenty20 International.
Arnold said, “He was bowling well all through, the wrong’un none of the hitters picked.”
